Luminarium: a festival dedicated to new talent in animated film

Organised in Lyon, the Luminarium Festival puts the spotlight on young animated film makers. Over three days, spectators can discover a selection of innovative short films, attend professional meetings and take part in workshops.

The festival takes place at La Commune, 3, rue Pré Gaudry in Lyon’s 7th arrondissement, with screenings scheduled from 3.30pm to 10.30pm.

ESMA is presenting seven short films in competition

ESMA is proud to present seven films made by its students at the Luminarium Festival: Spurs Out, A Furry Escape, Ratzia, All Aboard!, Cold Blood, Beyond The Dust (all from the class of 2023), and Bourdonnement (class of 2021). These films will be in the running for a number of awards, including Best Director, Best Screenplay, the Palme d’Or and the Audience Special Prize.

Taking part in this competition gives our students a valuable opportunity to share their creativity with a passionate audience and to rub shoulders with other emerging talents in the world of animation.
