- Training Video Game
Every year for the past 4 years, the Académie des Arts et Techniques du Jeu Vidéo has been rewarding the best French and international works. For this 2024 edition, and for the first time since the creation of our training programme dedicated to video game creation, 2 student games have been chosen for the very first selection phase for the prestigious Pégases 2024!
A 1st step completed
The 2 games in the competition ar no less than the winners of the ESMA 2023 juries. They are Folgore and Nakagin, both downloadable from the Itchio platform.
These games, the fruit of our students’ devotion and ingenuity, are currently being assessed by a panel of Pegasus academics. This jury, experts in the field of video games, examines each project carefully on the basis of criteria such as quality of design, playability, originality, technique, innovation and even artistic and narrative dimension.
Although the public is not directly asked to vote, this is a crucial stage where our game creators have the opportunity to make an impression. The games that succeed in convincing the jury will have the honour of being officially selected to take part in the prestigious Pegasus ceremony on 7 March.
This competition is not only an opportunity for recognition, but also a means of highlighting the emerging talent within our school. The Pegasuses are a catalyst for creativity and excellence, inspiring our students to reach new heights in the video game industry.
Congratulations to our budding creators and good luck to them! We look forward to following the progress of this competition, and will keep you informed of the exciting results of Pegasus 2024.
The Pegasus
The French Academic Video Game Competition, commonly known as “Les Pégases”, is an initiative aimed at rewarding and showcasing video game creation projects carried out, in particular, in schools. The competition is open to students and higher education establishments offering courses related to video games in France.
The Pegasus competition is an opportunity for students to showcase their creations, whether prototypes, playable demos or complete games. Games are judged on a number of criteria, including quality of design, playability, originality, technique, innovation and sometimes even artistic or narrative dimension.
The competition is generally divided into categories depending on the level of study ( for example, high school, higher education) and may include different specialities such as programming, game design, storytelling, etc. Professionals from the video game industry often take part as members of the jury to provide their expertise and assess the projects submitted.
The Pegasus Awards help to stimulate creativity and excellence in the field of video games within educational establishments in France, while offering students the opportunity to get noticed by the games industry.
