As well as focusing on general culture and the arts, our preparatory year is devoted to artistic practice.

Observational drawing, illustration, storyboarding, colour, sculpture and more. The different techniques of perspective, proportion and volume will hold no secrets for you.

With our complementary approach to professional and technical teaching, everything is done to stimulate and free your creativity.

By the end of this preparatory year, our students will have built up the perfect toolbox for creating their own worlds and embarking on a course in 3D Animation in the best possible conditions.

ESMA offers its most motivated international students the opportunity to enroll in Our 3D animation Prep Course in English at its campuses in Lyon, Bordeaux, and Montpellier.

This preparatory year, which combines linguistic and artistic learning, covers the same ground as the French version, while including cultural exchanges for mutual enrichment.

It prepares students for advanced 3D Animation Training , delivered entirely in English. This is the perfect foundation to learn 3D animation and launch a successful career in the industry.

Visual Arts

Discovering history to encourage students to carry out research and make personal discoveries in order to develop their curiosity.
Colours and textures

Colour theory, colour and language, chromatic research, material research, light and shade, study of different materials, use of geometric shapes..
Graphic and plastic experimentation

To expose students to the diversity of visual arts practices and develop their awareness and conceptualisation of the artistic process.
Communication and expression techniques

Both orally and in writing, students learn how to construct coherent speeches in order to defend their projects later on, through role-playing, theatre and pitching....
