Being Locavore is more than just a way of life, it's a real rejection of the abuses of globalisation. MANAA students in Nantes have been working on this theme.
The locavore
The way people eat is changing all the time. More and more questions are being asked about the way fruit and vegetables are grown. More and more people are aspiring to a healthier and, above all, greener lifestyle, in line with their own philosophy. They now want to eat products whose geographical origin is close to where they live. They are known as “locavores”.
Système U, as a hypothetical customer
Being a Locavore is more than just a way of life; it’s a real rejection of the abuses of globalisation. The MANAA students in Nantes worked on this theme. This time, their hypothetical client was Système Ua cooperative of supermarket retailers.
Description of the event
In order to showcase their local products in their shops, Système U wanted to create a one-off one-month event by setting up an ephemeral locavore stand. The stand was not intended to be a point of sale, but a place to showcase local products. If consumers wanted to buy them, they could do so inside the shop. The pop-up stand was to comprise two exhibition areas: a permanent zone to showcase a selection of products from the region and a temporary zone to host two local producers each day who could present their products directly to consumers.
Of course, the students had a number of constraints, and the aim was to create a stand with a strong and surprising visual identity!
