Motion Design: Capturing the urban aesthetic

Our 3rd year Motion Design students took on a major challenge: capturing the aesthetics and complexity of a city. This creative exploration led them to conceive a variety of fascinating urban universes: mystical, exotic, futuristic and even totally zany... The students succeed in transporting us into unique and captivating city settings.

Urban architecture: a widespread theme

Urban architecture is an omnipresent theme in various artistic and media supports, whether in films, video games or advertising. For this reason, it was essential for our students to approach this subject from the angle of motion design, in order to develop their ability to convey the beauty and complexity of a city in motion. In this way, the project gave the young talents the opportunity to explore and master a key dimension of their discipline.

The constraints of the exercise

The constraints of the exercise were strict and stimulating: each student had to design a miniature city by defining a distinct graphic style and animating it for around ten seconds. This work involved the use of 3D tools, with particular expertise in Cinema 4D software. The students not only had to create attractive visuals, but also bring their creations to life through animation, offering a complete immersion in these urban microcosms.

The results lived up to expectations!

The students succeeded brilliantly: each creation has a strong visual identity and a unique universe, proving the diversity of imagination of our budding motion designers. By working on the design and animation of miniature cities, they have been able to hone their mastery of tools and deepen their understanding of urban dynamics. Projects like these prepare them effectively for the professional challenges ahead!
