Art is born of imagination! Without it, there would be no books, music, sculptures or films, to name but a few. Students of 3D animation and special effects will need to use their imaginations throughout their course and in their professional careers. That's why their teacher Philippe Payet has suggested various themes to the first-year students in Lyon during their drawing classes: robot families, pirate islands, exploded dishes, royalty and chimeras.

Imagination is one thing, but to put his art to music, the artist always needs to call on a technical aspect. That’s why these various exercises give students who are just starting out their course the chance to practise appropriating a world, shapes, volumes, framing, staging and the coherence of an ensemble. Here are the results of their work.
