Teacher Virginie Torsiello, from ESMA Montpellier, offered her Prépa Entertainment students a workshop in which they were asked to design a film poster.
Educational objective
Design a film poster:
The aim was to enable students to discover graphic design through film posters. Several topics were covered:
- Fonts and their importance in conveying a message;
- Flat design (minimalist graphic style);
- Composition between visuals and text.
Assignments
After tackling these themes, the students had to reinterpret famous film posters: Men In Black, Asterix & Obelix, Beetlejuice, Forest Gump, Shining, Leon and Scarface.
