Her career as a freelance graphic designer led to her being spotted by the famous ready-to-wear brand "American Vintage".

Mathilde Xardel had planned to become a physiotherapist, but the ESMA Open Day changed her career path. “I’ve always loved drawing, but I never thought I’d be able to do it for a living,” she says.

After graduating in graphic design in 2012, she went on to complete a year’s training in web design. During this time, she completed a highly formative work placement with Melody Healthcare, a subsidiary of the prestigious Publicis agency.

Reporting to the creative director, she will be working on the development of iPad applications and digital media, for the Sanofi group among others.

At the beginning of 2014, she started out as a freelance entrepreneur before being spotted by the ‘American Vintage’ brand. Since May 2014, she has been working as a graphic designer for the famous ready-to-wear label.

As guarantor of the brand’s image, her missions are varied and rewarding: visual communication for the boutiques (design of POS displays, posters, window stickers), working on motifs and logos for the launch of new collections and internal communication (catalogue, leaflets).

ESMA enabled her to “really equip myself for professional life. I learned to approach projects from every angle, and that still helps me in my day-to-day work”.
