Charles Blanc is a former ESMA Toulouse student in the Bachelor Motion Graphic Design programme, class of 2017, the first of its kind.
Originally from the Rhône-Alpes region, he joined ESMA where he completed his course last spring before entering the world of work. Get to know him!

What was it like leaving school and entering the world of work?

I quickly did a three-month internship (May to August 2017) at Fab&Fab in Toulouse, a video production company, which makes creative motion-design films in particular.

During this work placement, I was able to adapt and put my skills to good use by carrying out various small tasks in both 2D and 3D.
In September, the directors decided to keep faith with me and keep me on.
Since then, I’ve worked on projects for Pierre Fabre Laboratories, Thales, Banque Populaire, MacDonald île-de-France and many others.

Most of the videos I’ve worked on involve 3D. It’s clear that this allows us to offer more possibilities to the customers who place their trust in us – tailor-made, as it were.

How would you define yourself as a motion designer?

I’d say fun… quirky… colourful.
I like taking risks and getting into areas that I’m not used to. What I like most, whatever the style, is to have no limits, no taboos in my creations.

What would you say to ESMA students?

“Do what you like in life, that’s the main thing!
